CATCH THE VIBE NOT THE VIRUS: SAFE SEX CAMPAIGN
On June 7th 2017 MaddZart Officially teamed with the Ministry of Health becoming the ambassador for the HIV Awareness and Safe-Sex Carnival Campaign that was officially launched the morning of by the National AIDS Secretariat, under the theme: “Catch the vibe, not the virus.”
The campaign, which is into its second year, is aimed at encouraging everyone to take responsibility for their lives by making wise choices as they participate in the Carnival celebrations. Sister Ferosa Roache, Director of the HIV/AIDS Unit said the Unit will continue to actively promote the use of condoms which will go a long way towards helping to reduce the transmission of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD’s).
Vincentian Soca Artist Raeon “MaddZart” is collaborating with the HIV/AIDS Unit to spread the important message of HIV/AIDS prevention during the Carnival season.
Madzart has been named the Campaign Ambassador for this year’s initiative and said he is pleased to be using his brand to promote the positive message of responsible behavior this festive season.
As part of this joint venture, during carnival MaddZart will endorse and promote the "Catch the Vibe, not the Virus" campaign. His Image and likeness will be utilized in television, radio, and social media and print ads promoting safe, responsible sexual behavior. Condoms and other promotional paraphernalia is available at his merchandise booth at all events. As the season progresses, during and after Vincy Mas, a quantity of condoms will be donated to the National Aid Secretariat. He added that his team is also seeking to forge other alliances with the aim of continuing the campaign outside of the Carnival season.
Another major aspect of the campaign is the release of a special song designed to enhance the campaign called "Catch the Vibe". All proceeds from the sales of this record will be used to fund the Campaign.
